Gagasi FM presenter and Real Housewives of Durban star Minnie Ntuli is reclaiming her narrative after skipping the official RHOD Season 5 reunion.
Instead of remaining silent, the 30-year-old media personality dropped her own reunion special on YouTube, where she reflected on her reality TV debut and addressed the backlash that followed her controversial moments on the show.
Why She Skipped the Reunion
According to her YouTube host, Minnie’s absence from the official Bravo-style reunion was due to personal and family commitments. However, the radio star wasn’t going to let that stop her from telling her side of the story. “We are recording today because she has other family commitments and she won’t be able to join the reunion,” her host explained.
On Joining RHOD: “I Didn’t Know It Would Be This Intense”
Minnie joined the cast in a “friend of the show” capacity for Season 5 but said the reality of being on the show was far more intense than she anticipated.
“For the first time, it’s different when you are in it and you’re shooting for hours. Some of the moments… I’m watching myself and I’m like, ‘Don’t say that, let it go.’ But no one can force reactions out of me. I take full responsibility for them—I just wish people saw what I was reacting to.”
On Her Clash with Londie London
One of the most dramatic scenes of the season involved a heated exchange with Londie London during a pool party. Londie had questioned Minnie’s identity and family background in IsiZulu — a moment that left Minnie visibly emotional.
“I felt disrespected. My parents and workplace were disrespected. You press on boundaries unknowingly and step on landmines.”
She revealed that she attempted to reach out to Londie before the show aired to make peace but now regrets joining the show entirely.
“If I knew what I know now, I would have never done the show.”
The Nonku Williams Letter Incident
Minnie also owned up to writing an anonymous letter that brought Nonku Williams to tears in the season finale.
“Firstly, I want to apologise for the letter… It wasn’t as deep as everyone thought. Nonku asked us not to reveal what was in it. But yes, I wrote it.”
She confirmed that she and Nonku have since reconciled:
“She accepted my apology.”
Open Letter to Londie London
In a surprising and emotional turn, Minnie read out a letter addressed to Londie London, apologising for how she handled herself during the show.
“There were times on RHOD where I reacted instead of responding. I raised my voice, called you names, pointed fingers, and even crossed a physical boundary. It was wrong, and I am sincerely sorry.”
While clarifying that she doesn’t expect friendship, Minnie stressed the importance of cordial coexistence among women in media, especially in KwaZulu-Natal.
“This is to apologise and to acknowledge that as young women of KZN in media, it is vital for us to coexist cordially. I am open to having an in-person talk.”
Owning Her Story
Throughout the self-produced reunion, Minnie demonstrated maturity and accountability, saying:
“I did what I did and I said what I said.”
Whether or not she returns for another season of Real Housewives of Durban, one thing is clear: Minnie Ntuli is determined to control her own narrative—on her own terms.
