South African rapper and reality TV star Nadia Nakai has spoken out after being excluded from the upcoming season of Netflix’s Young, Famous & African.
In a TikTok video shared on June 22, 2025, Nadia hinted that her absence was because the producers preferred drama over authenticity.
“When YFA didn’t ask you to come back for the new season cos they’d rather have drama than realness. 🙄” she captioned the post.
Nakai played a prominent role in the previous season alongside stars like Diamond Platnumz, Zari Hassan, and Annie Idibia. She was praised for her honesty and bold personality, especially during an explosive clash with Annie, where she openly called out toxic behaviour within the group.
“I rock up, put a smile on my face, and act like I’m okay when I’m not,” she said in a memorable scene that resonated with many fans.
However, her straightforwardness may have caused friction behind the scenes, sparking speculation that this led to her exit.
Fans have been divided over the news. While some praised her authenticity, others felt she stirred unnecessary drama.
Whether or not she returns in future seasons, Nadia Nakai’s impact on the show remains undeniable.
