The much-anticipated international friendly between the Super Falcons of Nigeria and the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon has been rescheduled once again, this time to Tuesday, June 3, 2025, with a kickoff set for 4:00 PM (Nigerian time).
Initially slated for Saturday at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, the fixture faced a series of logistical challenges, beginning with the late arrival of Cameroonian players and officials, which forced a postponement to Monday.
However, that date was later invalidated due to non-approval by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
In an update shared via the official Super Falcons X (formerly Twitter) account, the team confirmed that the match has now received the green light to take place at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta.
“Our friendly against Cameroon will now hold on Tuesday, June 3 at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex, Abeokuta, following late request from FECAFOOT and CAF’s approval,” the statement read.
The friendly match forms part of both teams’ preparations for upcoming international competitions, and fans are looking forward to seeing how the sides shape up following recent squad rotations and training camps.
This will be one of the few major international women’s matches hosted in Abeokuta in recent times, promising an exciting clash between two African powerhouses in women’s football.
