Renowned Nigerian wrestler and three-time Commonwealth Games gold medalist, Odunayo Adekuoroye, has joyfully announced the birth of her first child with her husband, Oladimeji Iyanda.
The celebrated athlete shared the heartwarming news on her Instagram page, posting a collection of photos from her pregnancy journey.
In her caption, Adekuoroye expressed deep gratitude to God for the safe arrival of their “bundle of joy,” though she kept details such as the baby’s gender and exact date of birth private.
She wrote:
“Dear friends and fans, with immense joy, your favorite champion is thrilled to announce that I’ve embarked on the beautiful journey of motherhood. Our precious baby made a grand and royal arrival filling our hearts with boundless love and joy.”
Adekuoroye described the transition into motherhood as a profound and divine experience, thanking God for His faithfulness. She also asked her followers to keep her and her family in their prayers as they embrace this new chapter.

Adekuoroye, 31, and Iyanda got married in 2022. Known as one of Nigeria’s most decorated freestyle wrestlers, she has represented the country at the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, African Games, and multiple continental championships.
With an impressive career record, she boasts eight gold medals, one silver, and four bronze medals across various competitions.
