Man United CEO Omar Berrada Warns Manager Ruben Amorim: ‘Failure Not Acceptable Again’

Manchester United CEO Omar Berrada has issued a stern warning to manager Ruben Amorim, making it clear that another season without success will not be tolerated.

The Red Devils endured a disappointing 2024/2025 campaign, finishing the season trophyless in what has been described as the club’s worst season in history.

United’s final hope of silverware — and a route back to Champions League football — was dashed after a 1-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Europa League final held in Bilbao.

Following the release of the club’s financial results, Berrada admitted that while the team showed signs of promise by reaching the final, the outcome ultimately fell short of expectations.

“We were proud to reach the final of the UEFA Europa League,” Berrada said. “But ultimately, we were disappointed to finish as runners-up in Bilbao.”

“We had a difficult season in the Premier League, which we all know fell below our standards – and we have a clear expectation of improvement next season.”

In response to the club’s underperformance, Manchester United have moved quickly in the transfer market. Matheus Cunha has already joined from Wolves in a £62.5 million deal, and a move for Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo is reportedly nearing completion.
