The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially affirmed Senator Samuel Anyanwu as the party’s National Secretary, putting to rest recent internal disputes surrounding the position.
This confirmation was made by the Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Damagum, while addressing journalists shortly after the PDP National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on Monday at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.
“Let it be clear that the NEC has affirmed Senator Samuel Anyanwu as the National Secretary of our great party,” Damagum declared.
He emphasized that the decision was among the key resolutions adopted at the high-level meeting, reaffirming the NEC’s role as the highest decision-making body within the PDP.
The development is expected to restore order and unity within the party’s leadership, particularly amid ongoing preparations for upcoming elections and broader efforts to reposition the party as a viable opposition force.
Anyanwu’s affirmation also signals the party’s desire to resolve internal leadership conflicts and solidify its structure ahead of critical political engagements in the lead-up to 2027.
