Beloved radio personality Selby “Selbeyonce” Mkhize is set to depart Ukhozi FM after a 12-year illustrious journey with the station. Her final show will air on 18 June 2025, marking the end of an era for both the station and its loyal listeners.
In an official statement, Ukhozi FM confirmed Selby’s departure with mixed emotions, acknowledging her invaluable contributions since joining the station in 2012.
“Selby has been an integral part of the Ukhozi FM family for over a decade. Her talent, energy, and warmth have shaped her into one of our most cherished presenters,” the station noted.
Selby began her journey as a guest contributor on the Umnyakazo Top20 show. Her captivating on-air presence earned her a contract to host Woza Nabangani Bakho, the popular afternoon drive show, which she led with flair every Monday and Friday. By 2015, she had secured a full-time presenter role, solidifying her status as a household name.
Throughout her time at Ukhozi FM, Selby became known for her vibrant personality, winning several awards and leaving a lasting impact on South African radio culture.
