Fans of The Real Housewives of Durban were left stunned this week after it emerged that reality stars Nonku Williams and Jojo Robinson, famously known together as “Joku,” have unfollowed each other on social media — signalling a possible end to their five-year friendship.
Speculation about a rift between the two began swirling shortly after the season five finale aired last Friday. Observant viewers noticed that both women no longer followed each other on Instagram, fuelling rumours of a fallout.
In an interview with News24, Nonku Williams confirmed that their relationship has indeed hit troubled waters, attributing the strain to her growing spiritual journey.
“As I’ve deepened my faith, our paths have diverged,” Williams revealed. “Jojo struggled to understand my spiritual growth and my call to share my faith with others. I believe it’s my duty to spread the word about Christ, and I couldn’t compromise on that. Unfortunately, our differences led to misunderstandings and blame being placed on others.”
Nonku had previously hinted at a disconnect in the season’s final episode, noting that she no longer felt spiritually aligned with Jojo.
“I’m not placing blame but rather recognising that our journeys have taken different turns. I’m focusing on my purpose and relationship with God,” she added.
The once-close pair were often at the centre of show-related drama and fan debates, with some questioning the sincerity of their bond amid cast conflicts and alliances. Tensions reportedly worsened after Nonku announced she would not return for the next season or participate in the upcoming reunion show.
Jojo Robinson also appeared to subtly address the situation by posting a cryptic message on her Instagram Stories, sparking further speculation among fans.
As of now, neither has confirmed a full break in their friendship, but the signs suggest the end of the “Joku” era that had once been a highlight for the show’s viewers.
