Senate President Godswill Akpabio has urged President Bola Tinubu to disregard negative public comments, asserting that transformation is taking place across the country under his administration.
Akpabio made the remarks during the commissioning ceremony of the newly renovated International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja on Tuesday. Drawing a parallel between the transformation of the ICC and the broader development efforts nationwide, the former Akwa Ibom State governor said similar progress is being seen in many regions.

He told President Tinubu, “Mr. President, the renovation, rehabilitation and transformation that we are witnessing at the ICC is what you are bringing to this country, whether people like it or not. The Nigerian parliament is very proud of you.”
The event also featured the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, who supervised the renovation. During the occasion, Wike announced that the conference centre would now be named after President Bola Tinubu.
In his address, President Tinubu noted that the FCT Minister will now have authority over who can use the facility moving forward.
