Simone Inzaghi Set to Take Over as Al Hilal Head Coach After Inter Milan Exit

Simone Inzaghi

Italian tactician Simone Inzaghi is set to be unveiled as the new head coach of Saudi giants Al Hilal this week, marking a bold new chapter in his managerial career.

The appointment follows Inzaghi’s departure from Inter Milan, where he enjoyed a successful four-year spell, winning one Serie A title, two Coppa Italia trophies, and three Supercoppa Italiana titles.

Despite reaching two UEFA Champions League finals, his reign ended on a sour note with a 5-0 loss to PSG in the recent final.

At Al Hilal, Inzaghi will inherit a squad packed with elite talent, including Rúben Neves, João Cancelo, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Aleksandar Mitrović.

His first major task? Facing Real Madrid in a blockbuster FIFA Club World Cup clash on June 18 is a true test of credentials early in his Saudi journey.

The high-profile hiring is another statement of intent from Al Hilal, who aim to solidify their status as a dominant force in Asian football and beyond.
