Former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, has vowed to support any political alliance or coalition aimed at removing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during an interview on Arise Television, Lamido, a senior member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), expressed his willingness to be part of any political arrangement — regardless of its form — that will oust what he described as a “government of incompetence and division.”
“I am part of any arrangement, no matter its nomenclature, to remove this government of incompetence, insecurity, that is dividing Nigeria firmly between north and south, out of power. I will go into any arrangement for that purpose,” he stated.
His remarks follow reports that Atiku Abubakar, Nasir El-Rufai, Rotimi Amaechi, Peter Obi, and other political heavyweights are working on forming a grand coalition to challenge APC’s dominance in 2027.
Lamido also accused the Tinubu-led government of manipulating state institutions to suppress the opposition and promote party interests over national unity.
