Former Married At First Sight Australia star Hayley Vernon has officially left her adult content career on OnlyFans behind after a profound spiritual awakening in 2024, which led her to embrace Christianity.
The 32-year-old reality TV personality and ex-finance broker from Melbourne, who once earned over £1.1 million from the platform and briefly worked as a £600-an-hour escort, now says she’s found clarity, peace, and purpose through faith. Vernon marked her transformation with a baptism ceremony in a lake, sharing the moment with her followers online.
“Yesterday I was born again in my faith,” she wrote, quoting Jeremiah 29:11. “My relationship with my faith has changed every aspect of my life.”
Leaving Her Past Behind
Vernon, once known for her bold and outspoken persona, says she’s done with the image she once portrayed. She’s currently selling off her expensive lingerie collection, which she described as a relic of her past.
“I used to think that lingerie and dressing a certain way would make me feel empowered. It didn’t—it did the opposite,” she wrote.
A New Foundation
In an emotional appearance on the MAFS Funny podcast, Vernon opened up about the psychological toll of her former lifestyle:
“You start acting so much and becoming this character that isn’t you, that you actually forget to be you… you just don’t have a firm foundation anymore.”
Her spiritual shift comes years after her infamous stint on MAFS Australia Season 7, which ended in scandal after her partner David Cannon was caught using her toothbrush to clean a toilet—a response to her kissing fellow contestant Michael Goonan. The controversy led to both being removed from the show by producers.
A Life Transformed
Vernon says that despite the challenges of letting go of her former life, her faith journey has brought her the greatest reward.
“There isn’t enough space or even words to explain the transformative goodness of God,” she said. “Letting go and being challenged hasn’t been easy—but I’ve come out better for it.”
Her decision to abandon a high-earning adult content career in favor of a spiritually grounded path has sparked widespread conversation online, with many praising her for her courage and vulnerability.
