President Bola Tinubu arrived in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, on Thursday afternoon as part of efforts to tackle the wave of violent attacks that have recently plagued the state.
Touching down at the Nigerian Air Force Tactical Air Command Base at approximately 12:58 p.m., the President was warmly received by top government officials and security chiefs.
During his visit, Tinubu is scheduled to tour Yelwata community in Guma Local Government Area, one of the worst-hit locations by the deadly violence.
He will also hold crucial meetings with stakeholders, including state leaders and community representatives, to discuss strategies for ending the conflict and restoring lasting peace.
In anticipation of the President’s visit, the Benue State Government declared Wednesday a public holiday, allowing residents to participate in or observe the high-level engagement.
