President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Kaduna State for the second stop of his ongoing three-state working tour. His Boeing 737 aircraft landed at the Nigerian Air Force Base in Mando at 1:27 p.m. local time on Thursday.
The President was warmly received by top government officials, including the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin; Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani; and the Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli. Other state governors such as Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), and Dapo Abiodun (Ogun) were also present, alongside the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume.
A military guard of honour, led by the Nigerian Air Force band, welcomed the President.
During his one-day visit, Tinubu is scheduled to commission several landmark projects, including the Institute of Skill Acquisition & Development in Riga Chukun, a 300-bed Specialist Hospital in Millennium Square, and 100 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses to boost intra-city transportation.
A grand reception is planned for the President at Murtala Square before his departure.
Security has been heightened throughout Kaduna metropolis, with temporary road closures on key routes such as Kawo Bridge and Independence Way from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. to ensure smooth logistics for the visit.
Tinubu’s visit to Kaduna follows his trip to Benue State, where he met with stakeholders in the wake of recent violent attacks that claimed over 200 lives. He is expected to continue his tour in Nasarawa State in the coming days.
