Tinubu Appears to Snub Governor Sanwo-Olu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday declared that he has put aside any grievances with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, signaling a thaw in previously strained relations.

The reconciliation took place during a closed-door meeting in Lagos with members of the influential Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), the state’s apex political decision-making body. The session was convened to restore peace and understanding among political stakeholders, particularly between Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu.

Chairman of the GAC, Alhaji Tajudeen Olusi, formally welcomed the president and acknowledged the existence of tensions between the president and certain political figures, including the governor. The gathering aimed to mend fences and rebuild mutual trust.

Sources familiar with the meeting confirmed that President Tinubu told the council he harbored no lingering resentment toward Sanwo-Olu, although the specific cause of the rift was not disclosed.

In a show of remorse and deference, Governor Sanwo-Olu and other council members reportedly made traditional conciliatory gestures, which many interpreted as symbolic acts of apology and respect.
