Court dismisses multiple claims in Vin Diesel sex abuse lawsuit

Vin Diesel

Vin Diesel secured a partial legal victory this week, though significant aspects of the case against him are still moving forward.

On June 3, a judge dismissed four employment discrimination claims brought against the Fast & Furious actor.

However, serious allegations of sexual battery and wrongful termination, filed by former assistant Asta Jonasson, remain active.

Jonasson, who initiated the lawsuit in 2023, claims that in 2010 Vin Diesel pinned her against a hotel wall and masturbated in front of her. Although the alleged incident falls outside the usual statute of limitations, California’s Sexual Abuse and Cover Up Accountability Act allows for the revival of certain older claims.

The court dismissed some of Jonasson’s claims on procedural grounds, ruling that she failed to file an administrative complaint in 2010, a requirement under state law for pursuing claims under the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA).

Vin Diesel’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, has continued to deny all allegations made against his client.
