Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has issued a bold challenge to his critics within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), declaring that no one has the authority or clout to remove him from the party.
Speaking during a media parley in Abuja on Monday, the former Rivers State governor reaffirmed his commitment to the PDP while addressing the growing internal criticisms over his perceived alignment with the current administration.
“I am still in the PDP. I worked hard for the party,” Wike said defiantly.
“I have not seen anybody who will have the guts to tell me, ‘Wike, you are not a member of the party.’ Who is that? What is his contribution to the party that is more than me?”
Wike’s comments come amid intensifying speculations and internal party tensions, particularly over his appointment as FCT Minister under an APC-led government and his active role in national politics that some see as contrary to the PDP’s interests.
Despite the controversy, Wike maintains that his loyalty to the PDP remains strong, and he won’t be sidelined or forced out by party detractors.
“I have paid my dues. My contributions to the PDP cannot be erased,” he added.
As the PDP grapples with internal divisions and seeks to rebuild its structure ahead of future elections, Wike’s influence and political stance continue to stir debates within the party’s top ranks.
