Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is set to star alongside Brad Pitt, Elizabeth Debicki, and Scott Caan in an upcoming feature film written by legendary filmmaker Quentin Tarantino.
While Tarantino is penning the script, he won’t be directing this time. Instead, acclaimed director David Fincher will helm the project, marking a rare collaboration sparked by Fincher’s exclusive deal with Netflix, as Tarantino traditionally avoids directing streaming-only releases.
Sources suggest Abdul-Mateen II will portray a character inspired by the late NFL Hall of Famer and actor Jim Brown, adding a rich layer of cultural and historical significance to the film.
This casting news follows Abdul-Mateen’s recent projects, including the completion of Elegance Bratton’s By Any Means, as well as major roles in Netflix’s Man on Fire series and Disney+’s Wonder Man in the Marvel universe.
