South African Amapiano sensation Zee Nxumalo has scored a major career milestone as the official host of the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards (KCA) 2025 Pre-Show.
The highly anticipated event, sponsored by Nedbank, will air on NickToons (DStv channel 305) on June 25, leading into the main show hosted by global star Tyla.
At just 22 years old, Zee is not only captivating audiences with her music but also adding her signature Amapiano twist to the iconic SpongeBob SquarePants theme song, which she recently remixed. The creative rendition has quickly become a fan favorite and is set to be a highlight of the pre-show.
“Hosting the pre-show and reimagining the SpongeBob theme in Amapiano has been such a fun experience,” Zee shared. “I’m so honored to be part of this year’s KCAs and can’t wait for everyone to see what’s coming.”
This marks a significant moment for African talent on a global stage, as Nickelodeon Africa and Nedbank aim to celebrate and empower African youth through entertainment.
According to Monde Twala, Senior Vice President at Paramount Africa, the spotlight on artists like Zee and Tyla reflects the show’s focus on creativity, youth empowerment, and fun.
