Zenith Bank Plc has once again been recognized as the “Best Bank in Nigeria” in the 2025 Global Finance Best Banks Awards—marking the fifth time in six years the Bank has received this prestigious honour. It was one of 36 African banks acknowledged in the 32nd edition of the awards organized by Global Finance magazine.
This year’s winners were selected for their ability to respond effectively to customer needs in challenging markets, deliver strong financial performance, and establish a solid foundation for continued success. Award recipients demonstrated strategic management of assets and liabilities, even amid rapidly shifting interest rates.
Global Finance editors made their selections after wide-ranging consultations with industry experts, including corporate finance executives, banking consultants, and analysts. The evaluation process combined both quantitative and qualitative factors, such as asset growth, profitability, market reach, strategic partnerships, product innovation, and insights from analysts and consultants.
Commenting on the achievement, Zenith Bank’s Group Managing Director/Chief Executive, Dame (Dr.) Adaora Umeoji, OON, expressed delight at the Bank’s continued recognition since 2020. She attributed the accolade to Zenith Bank’s dedication to top-tier customer service, technological innovation, and commitment to good corporate governance. She acknowledged the vital contributions of key stakeholders, including the Bank’s Founder and Chairman, Jim Ovia, CFR, for his visionary leadership, the Board for its strategic oversight, the staff for their hard work, and customers for their consistent support.
