Governor Ademola Adeleke Denies Plans to Dump PDP, Reaffirms Commitment to Osun People

The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has publicly dismissed speculations that he plans to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), affirming that he remains loyal to the party under which he was elected.

Adeleke made the statement on Monday, during the flag-off ceremony of the dualisation of the 3.5km Ila township road in Ila-Orangun, as part of his administration’s infrastructure development efforts.

I was elected on the platform of the PDP and so shall I remain in the party. I’m not going anywhere,” Adeleke declared to loud applause.

“My Commitment Is to Serve the People”

Governor Adeleke emphasized that his focus remains on delivering dividends of democracy and quality governance to the people of Osun State.

“I vowed before God and the good people of this state to serve diligently. I won’t be distracted from that sacred vow,” he said.

The governor also revealed significant milestones in infrastructure development achieved under his leadership.

“So far, we have completed the reconstruction, rehabilitation, and renovation of over 175 kilometres of roads across Osun State,” he said, noting that various dualisation and flyover projects are also ongoing.

Focus on Strategic Road Projects

Adeleke reiterated his administration’s commitment to completing major projects such as the Osogbo–Ikirun–Inisha–Okuku–Ijabe–Ila Odo Road, a 39-kilometre stretch that links Osun State with neighbouring Kwara State.

“The second phase we are flagging off today is nearly equal in length to what was completed over the past 12 years. By God’s grace, we will deliver it within 12 months,” he assured.

“A New Era for Osun State”

The governor described the ongoing projects as symbolic of a new era for the state.

“Our gathering here is not an accident of history. We are all programmed by Almighty God to be what we have been, what we are, and what we will be in the future,” he stated.

Adeleke’s remarks come amid recent political rumours, but his message was clear: he remains firmly in the PDP and committed to fulfilling his mandate to the people of Osun State.
