Air Peace has announced a temporary disruption to its flight operations after one of its planes suffered a bird strike shortly after takeoff on Thursday morning.
The affected aircraft, Flight P47100 en route from Lagos to Enugu, was forced to return to base mid-air as a precautionary measure after the bird strike compromised its safety systems.
In an official statement, the airline said the decision was made to enable engineers to carry out a full safety inspection of the plane. The incident triggered a chain reaction of delays and flight rescheduling across the airline’s network.
Air Peace apologized to passengers affected by the resulting delays and assured them that efforts are underway to resume normal operations as soon as possible.
“We sincerely empathize with our passengers over the inconvenience and appeal for your patience and understanding as we work diligently to minimize disruptions,” the airline stated.
