Former Big Brother Naija housemate Antoinette Lecky, popularly known as Anto Lecky, has been appointed Senior Special Assistant to the Edo State Governor on Tourism and Creative Economy.
The appointment was confirmed in a letter dated June 23, signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor, and takes effect immediately. The role comes with all the rights and benefits under public service regulations.
Anto brings a dynamic and multifaceted background in media, arts, and creative enterprise. Before this appointment, she served as the Arts and Special Projects Lead at ElectHER, a non-profit promoting women’s participation in politics. She also worked as a Programme Manager at KAP Film and Television Academy, founded by Nollywood filmmaker Kunle Afolayan.
Additionally, Anto was the Head of Operations at Nigeria’s first private basketball league and hosted the DStv travel and food series, ‘Sights of Flavours’. Most recently, she served as Special Assistant to the Minister of Steel Development, Shuaibu Audu, on Digital and New Media.
Her new position aligns with Edo State’s ongoing strategy to promote tourism and the creative economy, especially following the return of looted Benin artefacts and plans to develop cultural institutions across the state.
Anto rose to fame in 2018 during Big Brother Naija Season 3 (Double Wahala), where she made history as the first female housemate to be voted back into the house after being initially evicted.
