The All Progressives Congress (APC) has temporarily closed its national headquarters in Abuja, famously known as “Buhari House,” in honour of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, in London at the age of 82.
The announcement was made on Monday, July 14, by APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka, who stated that the Acting National Chairman, Hon. Bukar Dalori, directed the closure.
According to the party’s statement, the secretariat will remain closed until Thursday, July 17, as a gesture of respect and mourning for the late president.
“This closure is a mark of respect for our dearly departed leader. We encourage all party members to engage in quiet reflection and prayer for the peaceful repose of his soul,” Morka said.
President Buhari, whose name the APC secretariat proudly bears, served Nigeria both as a military Head of State (1983–1985) and as a two-term democratically elected president (2015–2023). His leadership and personality were instrumental in shaping the identity and direction of the APC since its formation.
The party has joined national and global figures in mourning Buhari, who is being remembered as a dedicated patriot, anti-corruption crusader, and a symbol of democratic transition in modern Nigerian history.
