“I Slapped Him on a Movie Set” – Yemi Solade Publicly Apologizes to Afeez Owo Over 20-Year-Old Incident

Yemi Solade Publicly Apologizes to Afeez Owo Over 20-Year-Old Incident

Veteran Nollywood actor Yemi Solade has issued a heartfelt public apology to his colleague Afeez Owo Abiodun, recalling a physical altercation that happened over two decades ago during a film shoot.

Speaking in the latest episode of Behind the Fame – African A-List, Yemi opened up about an incident where he slapped Afeez Owo during a movie production on the outskirts of Ibadan.

At the time, Afeez was serving as the production manager. According to Yemi, the heated moment was triggered by accusations Afeez allegedly made, which he found insulting.

“Let me apologise to Afeez Abiodun. I slapped him once. He was the production manager of a movie… We got to a town on the outskirts of Ibadan and when we finished filming and returned to town, everywhere was brown. As a production manager, he was laying some accusations that got me infuriated. That slap came from nowhere in the dark. I didn’t like that I did that,” Yemi confessed.

He went on to reveal that Afeez quietly left the set the next morning and the entire crew woke up to his absence.

Now, many years later, Yemi says he feels a deep sense of remorse and wants to take responsibility for his actions.

“Afeez, I’m sorry. Mabinu simi. It’s been a long time, like 20 years. I’ve complained bitterly to some people before, but let me just stick to Afeez. I don’t like insults, and that could be my weakness.”

The actor’s apology has sparked reactions from fans and colleagues, with many praising his honesty and maturity for addressing the issue publicly after so many years. Others are hopeful that Afeez Owo will respond with forgiveness, marking a moment of reconciliation in the industry.
