Actress Wumi Toriola and actor Afeez Owo have officially reconciled, weeks after their public feud dominated social media.
The emotional moment happened on Thursday during the premiere of Odunlade Adekola’s new movie Warlord, where Wumi was captured kneeling before Afeez in a gesture of apology.
Their clash began in September after Afeez—who is married to actress Mide Martins—said during an interview on Behind The Fame – African List that Wumi “only reacts when people push her” and “does not tolerate nonsense.”
Wumi responded fiercely in a video she later deleted, questioning whether she should “rent a husband to hold the mic and spoil things” and criticising the growing trend of airing disputes publicly on podcasts. In the clip, she said:
“So should we also go and rent a husband to hold the mic and spoil things? The person this sub is for knows it already. You’re an elder, please stop this. Must every rift now be dragged to podcasts? They gave you a mic, and you started talking rubbish. They gave you pepper soup, and you began blabbing. Am I a mad woman? Will I lash out if people don’t offend me? Despite all your unfortunate behaviours, I still respect you.”
The exchange fuelled major online reactions, with fans taking sides and debating the issue across social platforms.
However, at the Warlord premiere, both stars signalled that the rift was over. Wumi was seen kneeling before Afeez, and the pair shared smiles, light conversation and a warm embrace—marking the end of the tension.
Fans on social media have since reacted positively, praising Wumi for her humility and applauding Afeez for accepting her apology.
