Emmanuella, the girlfriend of popular Nigerian skit maker Carter Efe, has publicly defended her partner amid growing criticism over his unconventional comedic style.
Speaking during a recent livestream shared with Carter Efe, Emmanuella addressed concerns from fans and critics who feel the comedian’s loud, dramatic, and often outrageous skits are too extreme or even embarrassing.
However, she made it clear that she not only supports his craft but is actively involved in his creative process.
“I know most of you see him [Carter Efe] online doing stuff and you feel like maybe he’s disgracing me. To be honest, before he does it, I’m aware. So, how can I be embarrassed or ashamed of who I already know?” she said.
Emmanuella went further to reveal that she often encourages Carter Efe to push boundaries, saying:
“I’m actually the one who advises him to do crazy stunts. He’s not embarrassing me. I’m even the one who encourages him to do those stunts. So, I’m never ashamed of my man.”
Her comments follow ongoing debates on social media regarding Carter Efe’s bold comedic approach, which frequently elicits mixed reactions from the public.
Beyond defending her partner, Emmanuella also shared a message to other women, encouraging them to stand by their men regardless of public perception.
“Don’t ever be ashamed of whatever your man is doing,” she advised. “Support him. Stand by him. That’s what matters.”
