CDCFIB Reopens Recruitment Portal After Technical Glitch

CDCFIB Reopens Recruitment Portal After Technical Glitch, Urges Applicants to Resume Application Process

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has officially reopened its recruitment portal, following a brief suspension due to technical issues.

In an official statement released on Monday, July 21, 2025, the board confirmed that the portal—**https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng**—is now fully operational. The shutdown, which affected applicants nationwide, was necessary to upgrade system capacity in response to an overwhelming volume of applications.

“We sincerely apologize for the interruption in the application submission process,” the CDCFIB said. “Due to the high volume of applications, it was necessary to enhance the system to ensure it can accommodate all applicants, thereby facilitating a seamless, transparent, and equitable recruitment process.”

The portal, which handles recruitment for four paramilitary agencies—including the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS)—had previously experienced technical glitches that forced a temporary suspension of the application process.

The CDCFIB urged all candidates who had begun their applications before the suspension to revisit the portal and complete the process as soon as possible.

The board also responded to complaints from applicants who reported that some local government areas were missing from the portal’s dropdown menus, making it impossible for them to continue. The CDCFIB confirmed that corrective actions are underway and assured applicants that the issue would be resolved promptly.

“While some candidates are unable to proceed with applications resulting from missing or unlisted local government areas, CDCFIB assures that immediate action is currently being taken to rectify and make fresh inclusions into the portal,” the statement read.

Reaffirming its commitment to a merit-based and transparent recruitment process, the CDCFIB praised the enthusiasm of Nigerian youths seeking to serve in the nation’s security and emergency response sectors.

“We appreciate the enthusiasm and interest of young Nigerians to serve their country through these vital agencies and are committed to ensuring a fair and transparent recruitment process,” it concluded.
