Coach Nancy Retracts Allegations Against Mercy Chinwo as Peace Talks Begin with EeZee Conceptz

Court Issues Arrest Warrant for Mercy Chinwo’s former Manager Over Alleged Financial Misconduct

The Managing Director of EeZee Conceptz, Nancy Nnadi, popularly known as Coach Nancy, has publicly retracted her earlier allegations against renowned Nigerian gospel singer Mercy Chinwo, confirming that peace talks are ongoing between the singer and her former label boss, EeZee Tee.

Taking to Instagram, Coach Nancy wrote:

“On the advice of my lawyer, and for the sake of peace and love of God, I retract my earlier post about Minister Mercy Chinwo. I also pray Almighty God perfects the ongoing settlement process being facilitated by the Fathers of Faith between her and EeZee Conceptz.”

This retraction marks a significant development in the months-long feud involving royalty disputes, contract disagreements, and defamation claims.

Background: The Mercy Chinwo vs EeZee Conceptz Dispute

Mercy Chinwo, who signed to EeZee Conceptz in 2017 and exited the label in 2022, had accused label boss Ezekiel “EeZee Tee” ThankGod of withholding her royalties between 2022 and 2024, altering contract terms without her consent, and blocking her from ministering at church events.

EeZee Tee, in response, alleged that Chinwo failed to deliver her third album and withheld performance and streaming revenue. He claimed she had already earned $625,000 from a 50/50 revenue-sharing deal, and even after transferring $274,000 following an EFCC petition, she continued to demand more.

Arrest, Legal Action & Retraction

The conflict escalated earlier this year when EeZee Tee was detained by the EFCC after Chinwo’s team filed a petition. He was released after making a partial payment.

Meanwhile, Chinwo also sued Coach Nancy for defamation over a social media post that made damaging claims. Her legal team presented email and bank statements refuting Nancy’s accusations and demanded a public apology.

Now, with the retraction made, Coach Nancy has deleted her initial post and expressed hope that the “Fathers of Faith”—respected religious leaders—will successfully mediate a final settlement.

Chinwo Remains Silent but Active

Mercy Chinwo, now signed to GNT Nation, a label owned by her husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, has not publicly commented on the peace talks. However, she recently filed a separate ₦1.1 billion defamation lawsuit against activist VeryDarkMan, showing that she remains committed to protecting her brand and reputation.

Industry Reactions

The controversy sparked mixed reactions within the gospel music space. Music producer Dr Roy sided with Chinwo, alleging exploitation by EeZee Conceptz. Gospel blogger BeingReal George warned that the feud could undermine the integrity of the Nigerian gospel industry if not resolved amicably.
