Dele Momodu Fires Back at Wike: “No One Has a Monopoly of Madness”

Bukky Wright Celebrates Dele Momodu as he turns 60

Media mogul and former presidential aspirant, Dele Momodu, has responded fiercely to Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, following the latter’s recent derogatory remarks about him during a media briefing in Abuja.

During the chat, Wike had downplayed Momodu’s relevance, saying:

“There is this boy, they say he is a journalist. What’s his name? He is big.”
When informed it was Dele Momodu, Wike responded, “Okay. I don’t remember all these names. He was never my friend. He ran for president, but he didn’t get one vote.”

Momodu Claps Back

In a strongly worded Instagram post shared on Thursday, the Ovation International publisher didn’t mince words as he dragged Wike’s character, leadership, and lifestyle.

“I can confirm that too much alcohol can do two things – dull the brain and get people emaciated,” Momodu wrote.

Addressing Wike’s dig at his failed 2023 presidential ambition, Momodu replied:

“On elections, there’s no difference between the man who wasted billions on seeking power and still lost, and the one who spent nothing and got nothing. They are both losers.”

“A Decorous Global Citizen vs. A Local Champion”

While acknowledging both were unsuccessful in past elections, Momodu made it clear that character separates them.

“The difference here is one is an uncouth and uncultured local champion called ‘money miss road’, while the other is a decorous and refined global citizen surviving on contentment.”

He also alluded to past attempts to support Wike, which ultimately failed:

“We thought we could be of help, but we failed because some souls are irredeemable.”

Momodu ended the post with a viral closing line:

“Lesson: NO ONE HAS A MONOPOLY OF MADNESS.”

Political Context

Dele Momodu, 64, is a respected journalist and media entrepreneur who ran for president under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023. Despite not winning, he remains a vocal figure in Nigerian politics and media.
