U.S. President Donald Trump has revealed that he is open to considering a presidential pardon for embattled rapper and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently facing legal troubles in a high-profile federal case.
Recall that Combs was convicted on two counts relating to transportation to engage in prostitution, crimes that carry a potential 14-year prison sentence. However, he was acquitted of more serious charges, including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking.
Speaking on the matter, Trump stated:
“I certainly look at the facts” of the case and consider a pardon if he believes Combs was mistreated.
He further noted that any decision would not be influenced by popularity or personal relationships.
Diddy’s sentencing hearing is slated for October 3, 2025, in New York. In the meantime, his legal team has proposed a $50 million bail, a move currently being challenged by federal prosecutors.
