A Nigerian woman has sparked online discussion after passionately urging parents to stop sharing their children’s dreams and accomplishments with friends and associates, warning that such oversharing could expose them to harm.
In a now-viral video, she cautioned that while many parents mean well, not everyone they speak to wishes their children well.
“Tell your parents to stop telling their friends about your goals and achievements,” she said. “They should stop telling their friends about what you are doing, where you are… it is dangerous.”
She emphasized that when envy or spiritual attacks arise, it is not the parents who bear the brunt, but the successful children whose lives are progressing.
“They will not attack your parents. That’s what these parents do not know. They will not attack them,” she continued.
“It is you that is the light, you that is making them happy, you that is bringing success into the family — it is you they will attack, not your parents.”
Her warning has struck a chord with many Nigerians on social media, especially among youths who have experienced setbacks tied to family oversharing. The video has since ignited conversations around spiritual sensitivity, privacy, and generational protection.
