Harry Maguire Left Out of Manchester United’s Pre-Season US Tour Amid Squad Overhaul

Manchester United have announced their pre-season tour squad for the United States, with Harry Maguire notably omitted due to personal reasons. According to Sky Sports News, the defender could still join the team later during the tour.

Meanwhile, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia have also been left out of the squad, all of whom are reportedly up for sale this summer as part of a major squad reshuffle under Erik ten Hag.

Adding to the shake-up, Marcus Rashford has not been included as he is believed to be close to securing a loan move to Barcelona, a transfer that could signal a new chapter in the forward’s career following a disappointing 2024/25 season.

Teenage left-back Harry Amass is also absent from the squad list as Manchester United have opted to send him on loan for the 2025/26 season to gain first-team experience.

On the other hand, the squad features new signings:

  • Diego Leon

  • Matheus Cunha

  • Bryan Mbeumo

Additionally, Lisandro Martinez is traveling with the team despite still recovering from injury. The Argentine defender is not yet cleared for full training or match participation but will continue his rehabilitation in the US.

Goalkeeper Andre Onana is also part of the traveling party, even though he recently suffered an injury setback. His presence suggests the club remains optimistic about his recovery ahead of the new season.

As Manchester United gear up for a critical pre-season in the US, the squad changes reflect Ten Hag’s intention to restructure and build a competitive side for the 2025/26 campaign.
