Harry Maguire charged by FA after red card against Bournemouth

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has been charged by the Football Association for alleged improper conduct following his dismissal in a recent Premier League match against AFC Bournemouth.

Maguire was sent off after pushing Bournemouth forward Evanilson to the ground inside the penalty area, prompting referee Stuart Attwell to award a penalty.

The decision sparked controversy, particularly as a similar challenge on United’s Amad Diallo earlier in the match went unpunished.

Following the red card, the England international reportedly protested the decision to the referee before directing further remarks toward the fourth official as he exited the pitch.

The FA has since taken disciplinary action, accusing him of inappropriate behaviour during the incident.

“Harry Maguire has been charged after being sent off in the 78th minute of Man Utd’s Premier League match against Bournemouth on March 20.

“It’s alleged that the defender acted in an improper manner and/or abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour towards the fourth official following his dismissal.

Harry Maguire has until April 2 to provide a response.”
