Manchester United defender, Harry Maguire, has revealed that the club prevented him from leaving during the summer transfer window despite interest from several teams.
Speaking on the situation, Maguire said: “I am almost certain that Man United made it clear this summer that I could not leave under any circumstances. Several clubs inquired, and I think they were quickly told.”
The 32-year-old centre-back joined United from Leicester City in 2019 for a record £80 million fee.
Although his time at Old Trafford has been turbulent — including being stripped of the captain’s armband —he now appears revitalized under the management of Ruben Amorim.
