Manchester United defender Harry Maguire will finally get another chance to clear his name, as a new date has been set for the retrial of his 2020 assault and bribery case in Greece.
The England international was initially found guilty after a chaotic vacation in Mykonos, where he was accused of assaulting police officers and attempting to offer a bribe following an altercation. He was handed a 21-month suspended sentence but has consistently denied all allegations.
Maguire appealed the verdict, which was overturned, paving the way for a full retrial.
According to Daily Mail, the case—which faced repeated delays due to legal technicalities, counsel unavailability, and strikes—will now be heard on October 8, 2025.
The former United captain is not required to appear in person, meaning he remains eligible to join the England squad—if selected by new manager Thomas Tuchel—for international fixtures against Wales and Latvia around that time.
Maguire is currently in the U.S. with the Red Devils for their pre-season tour ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season. He arrived a day later than teammates due to a minor fitness concern that the club is closely monitoring.
