Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi, who represents Bauchi Central, has publicly reaffirmed his allegiance to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), firmly dismissing speculations linking him to the growing coalition under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a personally signed statement, the respected lawmaker set the record straight:
“I, Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi, wish to address the public, media, and my supporters with clarity and conviction — I remain a loyal and dedicated member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
I have spent my entire political career on the PDP platform, a party that embodies the hopes and aspirations of Nigerians.”
Senator Ningi, whose political pedigree spans 12 years in the House of Representatives, a term as Senate Deputy Majority Leader, and now as Chairman of the Northern Senators Forum, emphasized that his career has always been rooted in the PDP.
“My political journey has been guided by the PDP’s core principles of accountability, equity, and people-centred governance. I have never deviated from these ideals.”
While he did not directly mention the ADC, which has been chosen as the operational platform for a coalition involving notable figures like Peter Obi and Rotimi Amaechi, Ningi distanced himself from any such affiliations.
“I am not affiliated with, have not endorsed, and do not support the formation or objectives of any political coalition outside the PDP. Any attempt to associate my name with such platforms is false and misleading.”
He urged the public and his supporters to disregard any rumours about his defection, stating that his focus remains on nation-building through the PDP.
“Loyalty is not just a word; it is a principle. I stand with my party, I serve the people, and I will continue to lead with integrity and honour.”
As political realignments continue ahead of the 2027 elections, Senator Ningi’s declaration sends a clear message—his political future remains firmly tied to the PDP.
