The ongoing feud between U.S. music stars Nicki Minaj and SZA has taken another dramatic turn, with SZA firing back at the rapper over her claims of being a more accomplished artist.
The tension, which began on Tuesday night, appears to have been sparked by a subtle jab she allegedly aimed at Minaj, prompting the rapper to go on a fiery rant on X (formerly Twitter)—taking aim at music executive TDE Punch, and indirectly, SZA.
In her posts, Nicki Minaj claimed to have a stronger international presence and greater career achievements than the R&B singer, boasting about performing in countries where SZA, according to her, is “unknown.”
She responded by posting what appeared to be screenshots of past messages between Minaj and her team, suggesting that Nicki had previously reached out for a collaboration.
“You absolutely know my music and what I contribute cause you’ve asked for features twice to no response,” she wrote in her caption on X.
She also pointed out that Minaj had rapped her lyrics in the 2014 Beyoncé track “Feeling Myself”, referencing the line, “Cooking up the bass looking like a kilo.”
