“If God Permits, I’ll Marry Again” – Criticizes Women for Excessive Exposure in Nollywood
Speaking on her plans for remarriage, Wright said she is not closing the door on love. However, she emphasized that any future decision must align with divine direction.
“If God has a man who goes to the age of six, I won’t wait until he is five and a half,” she stated metaphorically, adding,
“If God says he will go to the top of the mountain, he will not stop until he reaches the top of the mountain.”
She concluded,
“It’s something I like, but only if God forbids it. I don’t tell women to try it because I like it.”
On the Trend of Exposure Among Actresses
Bukky Wright also weighed in on the growing trend of nudity and exposure in Nollywood, noting that this isn’t limited to actresses alone.
“It’s not just actresses. A lot of women in Nigeria now expose themselves,” she said.
She recounted her conversations with men who often tell her they prefer their women dressed modestly, despite the perception that men are the target audience for such revealing outfits.
Changes in the Movie Industry
Wright touched on how the Nigerian movie industry has evolved, especially in terms of equipment and production quality. She acknowledged that these changes have affected storytelling and the general experience of theatre arts.
“Things are no longer the same. Even the tools we use in the theatre have changed,” she said.
The seasoned actress, who now splits her time between Nigeria and the United States, encouraged fans to look forward to her new project, hinting at a major return to the screen.
