Logistics manager and social media personality Israel DMW has reacted to the Supreme Court’s decision to dismiss the appeal filed by Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the 2023 Edo State election.
Ighodalo had taken his case to the apex court, challenging the declaration of Senator Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the duly elected governor.
However, on Thursday, July 10, 2025, the Supreme Court ruled against Ighodalo, stating that his petition lacked merit.
Reacting to the judgment on his Instagram page, Israel DMW—who had previously endorsed Ighodalo as his preferred candidate—expressed his disappointment over the outcome. In a post that appeared to be both emotional and reflective, Israel wrote:
“Anointing Doesn’t Win Elections In Nigeria”
The comment sparked mixed reactions in his comment section. While some fans comforted him, others criticized his open support for a political figure.
Israel, who is widely known as Davido’s logistics manager, had been vocal in his political views during the 2024 campaign season, urging Edo State youth to rally behind Ighodalo.
With the Supreme Court verdict now settled, Monday Okpebholo remains the governor of Edo State, bringing the long legal battle to a definitive close.
