Nigerian singer Reekado Banks has revealed that he is no longer certain about getting married this year, contrary to his earlier plans.
Speaking during an appearance on The Esther Show, the former Mavin Records star admitted that his views on marriage have shifted significantly over the past two months.
“In my last interview, which was two months ago, I was pretty sure about my stance. I said I would get married later in the year, but now I’m in a very different place,” he said.
“So, I can’t say anything definite about getting married now. Back then, I was sure, but now I’m not.”
While Reekado emphasized that he remains open to marriage in the future, he made it clear that the delay is not related to his music career.
“Absolutely, I’m still open to getting married in the future. That’s the life I’ve always known because my parents were married until my mum passed away,” he shared.
“It has nothing to do with my music career. It’s about me and my emotional intelligence, which I’m still working on.”
Reekado Banks, whose real name is Ayoleyi Solomon, rose to fame under Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records after signing in 2014. He exited the label in 2018 to launch his own imprint, Banks Music.
In September 2024, the 30-year-old welcomed a baby boy with his British girlfriend. He announced the birth on social media with a touching post featuring him bottle-feeding the child, writing: “My biggest blessing so far. Thank you Jesus.”
Despite never revealing his partner’s identity, fans continue to speculate about their relationship and potential marriage. For now, however, it appears the singer is focused on personal growth and fatherhood.
