Popular Abuja-based lawyer, Stan Alieke, has issued a stern warning to bloggers and journalists over repeated attempts to drag him into controversies surrounding Nigerian singer Speed Darlington.
Taking to his Instagram story on Tuesday, Alieke expressed frustration at the influx of calls and DMs he and his legal team receive whenever the controversial artist, also known as Akpi, becomes a trending topic.
He reminded the public that his law firm, Law Capitol, had officially withdrawn its legal representation of Speed Darlington and no longer has any association with the singer.
“I do not appreciate the way bloggers & newspaper correspondents are always harassing me & my lawyers with calls & DMs whenever there’s a news on Akpi or he’s trending,” Alieke wrote.
“When Law Capitol recused itself from his representation we made it public. All these calls & DMs asking me what I have to say or comment is unwanton.”
Alieke’s statement makes it clear that he will not be entertaining any further inquiries regarding Speed Darlington and wants the media to respect that boundary.
