Just days after Rashida Nicole publicly announced her pregnancy with LiAngelo Ball’s child, reports have emerged that the two have already gone their separate ways. According to TMZ Sports, the “Tweaker” artist filed for divorce on July 3 at a Southern California courthouse, catching fans off guard.
The news comes as a surprise not only because of the pregnancy announcement but also because this marks the first time the public has learned that the two were married. Back in February, the pair were spotted leaving the same courthouse wearing matching all-white outfits, hinting at a possible secret wedding. So far, neither Rashida nor Ball has commented on the reported split or confirmed their marital status.
This marks the second high-profile breakup for LiAngelo Ball in recent months. Earlier this year, the mother of his first two children, reality star Miss Nikki Baby, accused him of cheating on her with Rashida Nicole and walking out on their family.
“I see everyone has been sending me @gelo cheating on me,” Nikki wrote at the time. “I want to clear this up and speak my truth. I am just as surprised as you are.”
“We spent 3 1/2 years together and last week he decided to walk out on his kids and I and tell me he got someone else pregnant (allegedly) and now is creating a new life with her,” she continued. “We were just happy and planning family photos—I am beyond blind-sighted by this whole thing. In response, LiAngelo Ball defended himself, denying claims that he abandoned his children.
“I’ll never leave or ‘abandon’ any of my kids, so we can dead that right now… I love all my children,” he said at the time.
Nikki later alleged that LiAngelo Ball had ignored their kids for six weeks, a claim he also refuted.
“I don’t have to call her to talk to my babies, who can only say ‘dada,’” he stated. “They’ll be at the mansion soon—I’ll see them the right way, don’t trip haha.”
