Inter Miami superstar Lionel Messi may be on his way out of Major League Soccer before the 2026 FIFA World Cup, following his team’s recent 4-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup Round of 16.

Messi, whose current contract with the MLS side runs through the end of 2025, is said to have paused talks over a possible extension. According to Argentine journalist Esteban Edul, the 38-year-old is now unlikely to renew his deal, despite having a 12-month extension clause in his current contract.
