Dr. Paul Enenche, Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, has spoken out on the deepening crisis in Nigeria, attributing the nation’s suffering to what he describes as a demonic spell and witchcraft.
In a post shared via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Thursday, the fiery preacher lamented that:
“There’s a blanket of sorcery and darkness over this nation; an evil spell making people tolerate what should provoke outrage.”
Enenche expressed heartbreak over the increasing number of Nigerians struggling to survive, including members of his congregation who now line up after church services not for prayers or counseling, but for urgent help with rent, food, school fees, and medical bills.
“People are suffering. Pastors are drained. Members now queue after service not for prayer, but for help,” he wrote.
The cleric also took aim at Nigeria’s political leaders, accusing them of arrogance and gross insensitivity amid widespread hardship:
“Yet, the leaders act as though nothing is wrong. This is not normal. It is witchcraft. A spell of patience in captivity. A demonic tolerance of suffering.”
Calling for divine intervention, Pastor Enenche prayed:
“Let every evil spell over this land be broken! Let those misruling with arrogance and mocking the people’s pain face divine judgment. They shall not see the celebration of their wickedness.”
His comments echo growing frustration across Nigeria as citizens battle with inflation, food scarcity, insecurity, and declining living standards.
