Actress and media personality Princess Shyngle has strongly condemned plans by some African Americans to stage a protest against African-owned businesses in the United States.
Taking to her Instagram story, the Gambian-born star voiced her disapproval of the planned boycott, which is reportedly scheduled to take place on August 1, 2025.
In a fiery post, Princess Shyngle criticized the idea, questioning the motive behind targeting African entrepreneurs in the diaspora.
“So, African Americans are starting a protest August 1st to boycott all African businesses in America,” she wrote.
“Why wait till August 1st though? Y’all can start now.”
Public Reaction
The statement has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some followers applauding Shyngle for defending African business owners, while others called for more dialogue around the tensions between African immigrants and African Americans in the U.S.
As of the time of this report, the organizers of the planned protest have not made any public statement in response to the actress’s criticism.
