EPL: Rashford Returns to Man Utd Training, Loses No.10 Shirt to Cunha

Marcus Rashford reveals he is 'ready for a new challenge

Marcus Rashford has made a surprise return to Manchester United’s Carrington training complex, despite being granted extended leave by new manager Ruben Amorim to explore a move away from the club.

According to The Athletic, Rashford’s appearance was unexpected, as Amorim had excused him from early pre-season activities to facilitate a potential transfer. Nonetheless, the 26-year-old trained on an individual programme, separate from the rest of the squad, in a bid to maintain his fitness.

In a notable sign that the club is already planning for life without him, Rashford has been stripped of his iconic No.10 jersey, which has now been handed to Matheus Cunha, the summer signing from Wolves.

The England international has made 426 appearances, scored 138 goals, and registered 77 assists since his senior debut. Despite his deep ties to the club, Rashford has formally requested a transfer, joining the likes of Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, and Tyrell Malacia — all of whom are reportedly seeking exits from Old Trafford.

With United set to kick off their pre-season tour against Leeds on July 19, fans are left wondering whether Rashford will feature in the lineup or finalize a move elsewhere before then.

The developments mark yet another dramatic twist in what is shaping up to be a tumultuous summer at Manchester United.
