Real Madrid defender Raúl Asencio and his legal team have reportedly reached a settlement agreement with the underage girl at the center of a high-profile investigation involving the alleged sharing of pornographic material.
Under the terms of the deal, Asencio’s actions would be classified as a minor crime, effectively removing him from the main court proceedings involving three of his Real Madrid teammates. If accepted, this would see Asencio fined rather than sentenced to prison.
However, the public prosecutor has not endorsed the settlement and reportedly intends to pursue a conviction against Asencio, alongside Sergio Ruiz and others still under investigation.
While the exact charges are being finalized, the investigating magistrate has recommended a four-year prison sentence for the accused.
The case continues to spark outrage and debate over the role of plea bargains in sensitive criminal cases, particularly those involving minors and public figures.
