FIFA Rankings: Super Eagles Drop One Spot, Now 44th Globally

Ebuehi, Sadiq to join Super Eagles camp

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have slipped one place in the latest FIFA Men’s World Rankings, moving from 43rd to 44th position globally.

The new ranking, released on Thursday, July 11, 2025, by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA), reflects Nigeria’s current form and recent match results.

Nigeria Drops to 5th in Africa

On the African continent, Nigeria is now ranked 5th, behind:

  1. Morocco

  2. Senegal

  3. Egypt

  4. Algeria

The latest movement comes despite the Super Eagles’ 1-1 draw against Russia in an international friendly played at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow during the review period.

At the top of the global rankings, World Cup holders Argentina continue to maintain their position as the No. 1 team in the world, followed by other footballing powerhouses.
