Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi has resumed full training with Nottingham Forest, following his recovery from an abdominal injury that sidelined him during the final stages of the 2024/25 Premier League season.
The 27-year-old missed the last two games of the campaign due to the injury, which required him to undergo two separate surgeries. Despite being out of action, Awoniyi was seen in attendance at the City Ground during Forest’s final league fixture against Chelsea, just days after leaving the hospital.
Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo is expected to reintegrate Awoniyi gradually, ensuring the forward regains full match fitness before returning to competitive action.
The player endured a difficult campaign last season, managing just one goal in 26 league appearances. The striker will be hoping to put his injury woes behind him and bounce back stronger ahead of the 2025/26 season.
